NOW That’s What I Call Music lanzará el tercero de su nueva serie Vault, uno que se centra en el año 1980.
Si recuerdas, estas colecciones tratan de “temas recopilados menores”. Por lo tanto, algunas canciones incluidas aquí fueron éxitos del Top 40, algunas no entraron en la lista por completo, algunas eran representativas de álbumes de ventas masivas y algunas fueron grandes éxitos al otro lado del Atlántico y no en el Reino Unido. Los formatos siguen siendo los mismos: 80 pistas en formatos deluxe y estándar de 4 CD y 45 pistas en el 3LP que está prensado en vinilo transparente.
Creo que la serie Vault puede ser mi favorita a partir de AHORA por la sencilla razón de que no te golpean en la cabeza con golpes masivos (y familiares) cada tres o cuatro minutos.
Este set de 1980 abre con superestrellas americanas establecidas con grandes éxitos en Estados Unidos, incluyendo ‘Hungry Heart’ de Bruce Springsteen , Billy Joel con ‘You May Be Right’, y ‘ The Hardest Part’ de Blondie, que fue un sencillo en Estados Unidos pero no en el Reino Unido. El primer disco también incluye música de The Ramones y The Revillos, sencillos de Echo & The Bunnymen y The Teardrop Explodes, así como cortes de Ultravox , The Human League y Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, todos ellos entre los más exitosos de los siguientes cinco años.
